Shannon MacLaughlan David, MD, MS (aka SMac) is the Founder and CEO of SMacDavidMD, a firm she shares with her husband, Sean David, MD, MS, DPhil. The power couple have decades of experience between them in academic medicine, advocacy, clinical and translational research and innovation, and mentorship and sponsorship in medicine.

Shannon is a board-certified Ob/Gyn and Gynecologic Oncologist, with a passion for health equity, comprehensive and holistic cancer care, women’s health, physician wellness, gender equity in the workplace, and truth and justice in general. She has committed her career to using her diagnostic, medical, surgical and empathic communication skills to serve the mission of centering care and attention at the margins, and to elevate the voice of patients, survivors and caregivers as experts in healthcare. SMac thrives on diversity of thought and interdisciplinary collaborations, which serves well her role as a consultant and speaker.

SMac also leverages her years of professional experience, innovative teaching skills and highly-sought after mentorship legacy along with formal training at the ACT Leadership and Performance Coaching collaboration at Brown University’s School of Professional Studies to offer 1:1 coaching to physicians, healthcare executives and professional leaders.

Most importantly, Shannon is a mother, sister, daughter and spouse, who loves learning for the sake of learning, exploring the world with Sean and their daughter Victoria, and just being still on any ocean’s beach.
